May 8, 2010 - 1:37 pm Jenny Kaser - Little things that make life so enjoyable: a. getting a call from a friend when you had a “hole” in your day b. going running with your teenage son c. watching, from the chair on your front step, the leaves in the top of the trees move in the wind d. drinking lemonade while swinging in the hammock e. looking at your watch to realize that you just skied 10 minutes faster than you had last week f. free Tim Hortons donuts at work on Friday morning g. turning into your tree-lined lane in April to notice that all the leaves have come out h. watching ripples in the river from the end of a dock i. coming home and the dishes are DONE j. getting a spontaneous hug from your teenager k. seeing three friends’ emails in your inbox l. getting photos of your good times together in those friends’ emails m. planning WHICH artists you are going to see at the Bluesfest n. taking the bus downtown with a bunch of enthusiastic, singing Canadians on Canada Day o. sharing a smile with another solitary skater as you pass on the canal. p. NOT listening to that voice in your head that’s telling you it’s OK to stop exercising 3 minutes early q. The click click sound of your beautiful new heels that you bought for 75% off r. Walking away from the hairdresser with a handful of free samples s. Overhearing an adult say that your teenage daughter is so sweet t. realizing that it's Thursday when you thought it was Wednesday

Coffee each morning with my oldest daughter. Manicures with both of my girls. "Dates" with my honey when we take the rubbish to the dump. Smell of freshly cut grass. Being barefoot. The ocean. The sound of waves crashing on the rocks. Fog. Redwoods. Vineyards. Curling up with my youngest to watch the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Traveling. Singing VERY loudly in the car. I could go on for days - but I'll stop there!

April 28, 2010 - 9:31 am Bruce - The smell of growth - it's wet and earthy and is often accompanied visually by rich textured layers of green and brown colours. The amazing thing is that it happens everywhere in both natural and concrete "jungles".
