I can’t tell you what an honour it is to photograph life, to physically capture an emotion, a moment in time. My photography journey affords me the ability to be witness to this – the beauty of life and all the emotions that go along with it. I know in my heart that I am creating these wonderful memories for my clients, but what they don’t know is that I always come away from a session with renewed sense of how precious life is. Its in the small details…the way a couple looks at each other or the way daddy-to-be hugs and kisses the belly… it can be a different detail every time, however, it always comes back to the same thing – to me, it is the tangibility of love and of life…

Thank you for that precious gift you give me.

This year I have met some wonderful people of all ages. I am very blessed to have such amazing clients who trust me to come into their homes to capture their memories. I am also blessed to have gotten to know these wonderful people - sharing laughter and exchanging stories. Life is a gift. To me, life is also art.

In 2009, I met some beautiful souls – I look forward to all the beautiful souls I will meet in 2010.

I had the pleasure of meeting mommy-to-be a few weeks before I did her maternity session. The first thing I noticed about her, other than being really beautiful, was that she was absolutely radiant and glowing. We chatted for a few minutes about the upcoming session and the more we talked the more I knew I couldn’t wait for this maternity session.

I met her again this past weekend for the actual maternity session. Daddy-to-be was there for a bit to capture some moments, and then left the girls alone to do the rest. We had such a pleasant time – we had on the “spa” music playing in the background while we chatted about ourselves, our experiences, and our lives. It was so laid back and relaxed. The more she spoke of her little angel on the way, the more I could feel the love and excitement in her voice. It was very obvious to me that this little baby is truly loved.

Meet Elias – my newest little cousin. When his parents called me to book a session for him, I was so honoured! I just love capturing this age – definitely coming into their own, showing their personalities. He is one of the happiest babies I know! Can’t you tell!?

I just love the interaction here between the three of them. Look at the way he is looking at his daddy.

Details….they are so important to me to capture. There is an absolute beauty in these itty bitty details.

Sweet baby goodness. Everytime I have the pleasure of meeting a new life, I can’t help but see the little tiny details – the soft creamy skin, the beautiful little wrinkles and folds, the fine soft hair that covers their tiny little bodies. I see the tiny little fingers and toes, the squishy faces they make, the incredibly tiny fingernails. To me there isn’t anything more beautiful than these tiny little details that disappear so quickly. What I also see is the adoration in the parents eyes when they hold their new little precious baby and I see the awe and curiousity in the siblings eyes. What my job allows me to be witness to is the tangibility of love. Simply, I am inspired by the beauty and tangibilty of life and of love.

Steve and Amy, congratulations on your baby boy.

Its no surprise that newborn are my ultimate FAVOURITE to photograph!! Sweet baby baby J was no exception. He is the third child of a family I have had the pleasure of knowing for several years now. It took a little convincing to get him to sleep, but finally we did manage…and we had to work quick because it didn’t last too long… But oh, what sweet success!! Maria and Josh, enjoy your sneak peak and I will be in touch with the rest of your gallery very soon!

….thats right….some changes are coming to Photos by Rej….VERY exciting changes!! I can’t spill the beans yet as I have some things to finish up first…but keep on checking back….!!

Just a note about availability….I am booking up rather quickly so if you are looking to have a session done, please get in touch with me soon.

A reminder for those that are looking to have a newborn session done - its important you contact me while you are pregnant so that I can book you in/around your due date to ensure we get you new little bundle within the first 4-10 days of life. Newborns are best done in this time as we can get those fabulous fleeting newborn qualities that disappear so quickly….

Of course I can’t post something without a picture…
