I am a little short on words tonight, but as I was preparing a wedding post, I came across this beautiful photo. Reminds me of my favourite book – Charlotte’s Web.

I still have lots to post, including a gorgeous Indian wedding – I removed one recently and will be updating it more soon, so stay tuned!

I love shooting engagement sessions and recommend it to all my brides and grooms because it gives us a chance to spend some time together before the big day. One of the really special things to do with the engagement session photos is to create a one of a kind sign in book for the wedding reception as seen here - such a fabulous way to showcase a wonderful day.

There is a house I have been craving to photograph. Everytime I drive by it, it calls to me, something pulling me to it. Curiosity got the better of me, and I headed down to explore this abandoned home. I was greeted by a gravel driveway that was covered with overgrown weeds, grass, and wonderful wild flowers. The warm wind blew, encouraging the tall grass to dance all around me. A few minutes later, I found the house. I had been looking forward to this moment for a long time.

The house seemed like any other house, but despite being empty and abandoned, it still felt alive. I could see into the house, where I could imagine the walls of the living room playing host to a family event, and I could also imagine the warmth of the sun beaming down in the kitchen while they enjoyed a delishious meal. I wanted to go inside to explore more about this energy, but there was broken glass everywhere, and the sight of the slightly ajar doors swaying in the wind sent ripples of fear up and down my spine. It was time for me to go. I had over stayed my welcome.

Perhaps it will call to me again one day…

Back last summer, we took the kids to Old Fort Henry in Kingston. “Fort Henry was built from 1832 to 1837 to replace an existing fortification from the War of 1812 era. Fort Henry continues its role as a museum and historic site to residents of Kingston and visitors from all around the world. Once inside the wooden gates, visitors enter the realm of 19th century military life, experience guided tours, scenic views, heart-pounding musical performances and precision military demonstrations by the Fort Henry Guard* (a highly disciplined group of university student recruits trained as British soldiers from 1867). You will also see people representing the civilian population of the Fort as schoolteachers and soldiers’ wives. The Fort also plays host to numerous special ceremonies and events that take place all season long.”

This teacher played the role VERY well. So well, that my son was TERRIFIED of her and sat very still in his seat with the other boys – the girls were on the other side of the room. His poor eyes kept looking at me, as if to say “help”.

We were able to walk around in the fort and see what people were wearing and using back in those days.

This one is one of my favorites…its not perfect, isn’t composed properly, but I don’t care…I still love it because it show my son skipping along (he had his leg cast removed about 3 weeks prior).

Can you tell it was a HOT day!….

Someone wasn’t happy with me…she was getting a “time out” for something and was not impressed with me…can you tell?

I love his expression here….few minutes prior to this shot, a soldier and a donkey walked by, and left an unpleasant odour.

Making changes ~ and some pictures

Hello Blog followers!
You may have noticed that I have make some changes to the blog…and there may be more coming, you see, I am trying out different looks – still trying to make it “Me”…so far I am liking the simple blog background clutter free (i don’t like clutter…lol)

ok…and while I was trying to clean out the blog clutter, I also started going through my images and archiving old stuff. While doing this, I came across TONS of images that I never blogged before, like this from the Busker festival last year..

These were taken on our family trip to I don’t remember where (we always go on little day trips), but I just had to stop and get this shot!
